Course Drop Policy and Course Drop Deadline (August 5)
Students may not drop any FSI course without an adviser’s permission.
Students enrolled in an FSI course may only drop the course after an advising conversation with Dean Khristina Gonzalez ([email protected]) and/or Dr. Andy Hakim ([email protected]), and their Residential College Dean or Assistant Dean. Students will not be able to drop the course through TigerHub. Instead, they will need to receive the approval of FSI staff and, if applicable, their dean or assistant dean, who will sign a course enrollment worksheet and process it with the Registrar.
The drop deadline for students enrolled in HUM 254 is August 5th at 5pm.
Please note that after the course drop deadline, students are held responsible for completing all courses in which they are enrolled and are assigned final grades in those courses.
Online Course Drop Policy
● A Princeton student who drops HUM 254 will not be permitted to remain in the Virtual FSI program.
● A student who drops HUM 254 and leaves the FSI online program may not be eligible for enrollment in Fall 2023 and will be required to have a series of advising conversations with their college Dean or Assistant Dean and to submit a plan for successfully navigating the fall semester to them in order to be eligible for enrollment in the Fall 2024.
Withdrawal Policy
If, due to a sudden health or personal emergency, a student is permitted to withdraw after the drop deadline, the course will appear on the student’s transcript with a “W”. A student who withdraws from one Princeton course after the drop deadline will be withdrawn from all Princeton courses in which the student is enrolled. Students may not withdraw from any courses after the last day of class. Students withdrawing from their course will not be allowed to stay in program housing and will need to leave campus housing within 72 hours of the drop/withdrawal.
Because FSI serves as a bridge program, it holds particular rules regarding standing. Normally, a student who withdraws from FSI/FSI online course(s) after the drop date will not be eligible for enrollment in Fall 2023 and will be required to take a year-long academic leave becoming eligible for reinstatement in Fall 2024.
Students dropping or withdrawing from their course will not be allowed to stay in program housing and will need to leave campus housing within 72 hours of the drop/withdrawal.
A student who experiences a personal or medical emergency that will prevent completion of the course must contact Dean Khristina Gonzalez immediately.
D/Failure Policy
Because FSI serves as a bridge program, it holds particular rules regarding standing. Students who receive a D or an F in an FSI/FSI online summer course will normally be ineligible for enrollment in Fall 2023 and may be required to take a year-long academic leave becoming eligible for reinstatement in Fall 2024. Students in this position are required to meet with their residential college dean in order to review their academic standing and eligibility for fall term enrollment.
Tuition, Living, and Personal Expense Policy
Costs for tuition, living, and books and personal expenses will be prorated based on the date that a student drops or withdraws from the course. A student who received financial assistance for room, board, books, and personal expenses prior to dropping or withdrawing may owe all or a portion of that assistance back to the University. FSI students will not need to repay any tuition in the case of withdrawal.
