In addition to the academic experience, a main element of the FSI program is the social community. Scholars live together on campus with approximately nine Residential College Advisers (RCAs), who are experienced Princeton undergraduates; every summer, several of our RCAs are students who were themselves Freshman Scholars.
Three Resident Graduate Students (RGSs) work with the RCAs to provide an array of events and activities. In past summers, these events have included trips to New York and the beach, dance parties, low-key study breaks, and movie nights. FSI builds strong communities of students year after year. Many students report that the students they meet at FSI remain close friends throughout their time at Princeton.
"The people I bonded with in the summer program continue to be among my closest friends. By attending classes, workshops on all of Princeton's special student services, and field trips into New York...I became so familiar with the campus and surrounding cities that, come September, other freshmen thought I was an upperclassman! Overall, the summer program offers an unparalleled transition into college life, and I would recommend it to anyone who is given the chance."
